Meet the Doctor – Pineland Family Dentistry

Dr. Gregory L. Goding, DMD, MAGD

Dr. Gregory L. Goding graduated proudly from the University of Maine in 1979 and the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 1985. He grew up in Bangor, Maine.

He then completed additional training in the General Practice Residency in Dentistry at York Hospital in York, Pennsylvania in 1986. Dr. Goding went on to become the Director of the GPR program at York Hospital until 2000 where he was responsible for teaching newly graduated dentists as well as senior dental students from all over the East coast. He has over 37 years of experience practicing general dentistry. Dr. Goding enjoys treating children as well as adults.

Dr. Goding is a proud member of the American Dental Association, the Maine Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, as well as the New England Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. He completed the Master Track program in the AGD with over 1,100 hours of continuing education. He is also a fellow of the American Association of Hospital Dentists.

He and his beautiful wife Marianne reside in Cumberland. He has 4 adult children. In his spare time he enjoys running, photography, reading and being outdoors to enjoy all four seasons the great state of Maine has to offer.

On July 16, 2016, Dr. Goding was awarded the prestigious Mastership Award from the Academy of General Dentistry. This is one of the most rigorous continuing dental education recognitions today. This year only seventy-one other general dentists were successful in achieving this prestigious honor.

Over the past 40 years, more than 3,500 dentists worldwide have completed 1,100 hours of coursework in the sixteen areas of dentistry to receive the Mastership Award from the AGD, a professional association of more than 40,000 general dentists dedicated to staying up to date in the profession through continuing education. Less than 2% of all general dentists have completed this training.

This achievement marks a significant milestone in my career because the award demonstrates my long-term commitment to go above and beyond continuing education requirements to provide my patients with the most up-to-date treatment options and superior patient care.
