Meet the Doctor – Pineland Family Dentistry

Dr. Gregory L. Goding, DMD, MAGD

Dr. Gregory L. Goding is a native of Bangor, Maine. He pursued his undergraduate education at the University of Maine at Orono where he earned a BA in Zoology in 1979. Following graduation, he enrolled in the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia. UPenn is consistently ranked as one of the best dental schools in the country and the world. He graduated with his degree in dentistry in 1985. Following dental school, Dr. Goding was accepted into a GPR or general practice residency at York Hospital in York, Pennsylvania. This program exposed him to additional training in more complex cases as well as patients with more complicated medical histories. He completed the program in 1986 and then became the Associate Director for the program. The following year he became the director of the program where he was responsible for teaching newly graduating dental students as well as fourth year dental students from all over the East coast.

Dr. Goding eventually returned to Maine in 2008 to open Pineland Family Dentistry in New Gloucester on the beautiful campus of Pineland Farms. He enjoys treating children as well as adults.

Dr. Goding is deeply committed to continuing education and professional development in dentistry. One of his notable accomplishments is earning the distinguished Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry or MAGD. He completed the program in 2015 following five years of training and over 1,100 hours of coursework. This is an honor completed by less than 2% of general dentists nationwide. This achievement represents a significant milestone in his career.

This represents his long-term commitment to go above and beyond continuing education requirements to provide his patients with the most up-to-date treatment options and superior dental care.

Dr. Goding actively maintains memberships in several dental organizations including the American Dental Association, Maine Dental Association, New England Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and the American Association of Hospital Dentists.

Dr. Goding and his beautiful wife reside in Cumberland. They have four adult children.

In his spare time, he enjoys photography, golf, reading and being outdoors to enjoy all four seasons the great state of Maine has to offer.
